A playful publication and identity for New Haven's Criterion Cinema, Popcorn Magazine.⌁
Popcorn Magazine is a zine that folds into a popcorn box. It's also a personal tribute to movie culture, honoring indie cinemas that unite local communities and online review sites such as Letterboxd which unites movie lovers across the world.

Popcorn boxes are one of the most iconic symbols of movie theaters, and I thought it would be most fitting if the magazine resembled its form. When unfolded, the magazine reveals the weekly schedule for the theater, overlaid with a collage of movie stills and Letterboxd reviews. It was a really fun challenge to translate something so quintessentially digital and dynamic into print!

Criterion Cinemas closed down last year, leaving the city of New Haven without a movie theater. I think it's a shame.
